From 28 November to 3 December 2022, French schools around the world are highlighting their actions in favour of media and information education. This year’s theme for the week of the French school in the world (SLFM) was: being informed in a connected world to shape informed citizens. The pupils of CM2, 5e and 3e therefore reflected on how to be well informed through 2 projects.
First the launch of our web radio Eko Radio during the Grand Direct AEFE. Through interviews, chronicles and round table discussions, the CM2 and 3e students showcased Nigeria and our school. The live broadcast also allowed them to discuss with a journalist from AFP, Mr Alexandre Martins Lopes, about media and how to get information as a young citizen.
Another project looked at how to stay informed in a connected world to shape informed citizens. The 5e classes researched in CDI and presented in groups their reflections on social media, its origin, the reliability of the information they convey, their advantages and disadvantages.
