Life-size immersion in the history of the Earth

On Tuesday April 15, our students took part in an original educational activity: the Geological Time Walk. This unique experience retraces the 4.6 billion-year history of our planet in the form of a 4.6 km walk, where each metre covered represents one million years.

Along the way, students marked 18 key milestones in the Earth’s evolution. At each stop, they presented their posters, shared their research sheets, observed samples and benefited from detailed explanations to better understand the major geological events. This fun, hands-on activity enabled students to:

-Visualize the geological time scale, often difficult to grasp in the classroom;

Reinforce their scientific knowledge through in-depth research and hands-on observation;

-Develop their curiosity and critical thinking skills, by linking theory and field experience.
