The Passerelle Solidaire project was born from the desire to create a link between two schools in Lagos with very different social realities, yet driven by the same wish to learn and grow. Led by Lycée Français Louis Pasteur of Lagos in partnership with Splendor Spring School in Makoko, the project places education at the service of connection and shared experience.
Through reading, writing, and artistic creation, students from both schools worked on joint projects, following the same guidelines and pursuing the same objectives. In visual arts, they drew inspiration from Jean Dubuffet and Nigerian artist Semio Alvi to create free and expressive portraits. In the classroom, they also wrote texts and portraits to reflect on identity and the way we see others.
The collaboration continued with a shared reading challenge, the Bukkaten, which encouraged a love of books and exchanges around reading. All the work was brought together in an exhibition and later shared with families during a joint performance held on December 15, 2025.
The project also provided support to Splendor Spring School through the donation of school supplies and English-language books. Passerelle Solidaire reflects an educational approach based on respect, cooperation, and openness to the realities of others.
