As part of our month-long celebration of the richness of the French language, our primary students recently took part in a spelling bee that highlighted both their preparation and their determination. In the weeks leading up to the event, many practiced consistently, and it showed in their focus and effort on the day.
Beyond spelling, the competition helped build vocabulary, listening skills, and confidence. Standing up to spell in front of others encouraged students to stay calm, try their best, and keep going, even when unsure. Parents and teachers played a strong supporting role, helping children prepare and showing up to encourage them. The students, in turn, were fully engaged, supporting one another and taking pride in their participation. A simple event, but a meaningful one in celebrating language and building confidence.
