The celebration of Nigeria’s independence at the Lycée put culture and art in the spotlight with performances of traditional masks and the use of symbolic means of transport such as the danfo, okada and keke.
The pupils organised mini art exhibitions inspired by Nigerian culture in their classrooms. They also performed a variety of songs and dances, interviewed staff, and welcomed parents who shared stories and spoke about their origins.
The Society of Nigerian Artists exhibited a variety of works, including sculptures, paintings and accessories. The day gave our school community an opportunity to celebrate the country’s rich artistic heritage. A tasting of typical Nigerian street food rounded off a day rich in cultural exchanges and discoveries.
