REMISE DE LA DISTINCTION « D’AMBASSADEUR DU LYCÉE » À MESSIEURS NI ET LI – AWARD OF THE DISTINCTION « AMBASSADOR OF THE LYCÉE » TO MESSRS NI AND LI

Le lycée Louis Pasteur a invité, jeudi 23 mai, Monsieur NI et Monsieur LI pour leur remettre la distinction « d’Ambassadeur du Lycée Français Louis Pasteur » qui récompense leur action dans la promotion de l’école auprès de la communauté chinoise. En effet, Monsieur NI et Monsieur LI ont organisé, en février dans l’école, le « Nouvel an chinois » qui a constitué un évènement majeur, sous l’égide de Monsieur le Consul général de France et Monsieur le Vice-Consul de Chine. Cet évènement qui a été fortement médiatisé s’est traduit par un regain d’intérêt de la communauté chinoise pour notre école. Monsieur le Proviseur a indiqué que cette distinction montre l’intérêt de l’école pour la Chine et sa culture. Il a annoncé que le chinois sera, d’ailleurs, enseigné à compter de la prochaine rentrée scolaire en classe de seconde et pourra être présenté au baccalauréat. Monsieur le proviseur s’est adressé aux deux récipiendaires en leur disant « Par votre action, vous avez rapproché l’école de la communauté chinoise, vous avez insufflé une dynamique qui je l’espère, grâce à votre engagement présent et futur, se poursuivra dans les semaines, les mois et les années à venir ». Il a ponctué son discours au moment de la remise des distinctions par « Vous voilà maintenant membres de l’Ecole Française. Bienvenue dans notre famille ouverte au monde ! ». Les élèves présents ont remis les distinctions et la cérémonie a été ponctuée par une sympathique collation dans une très belle ambiance.

The Lycée Louis Pasteur invited on Thursday, May 23, Mr. NI and Mr. LI to honour them as « Ambassador of the Lycée Français Louis Pasteur » which rewards their action in the promotion of the school to the Chinese community. Indeed, Mr. NI and Mr. LI organized, in February in the school, the « Chinese New Year » which constituted a major event, under the aegis of the Consul General of France and the Vice-Consul of China. This event, which has been highly publicised, has resulted in a revival of the Chinese community’s interest in our school. The Principal stated that this award shows the interest of the school for China and its culture. He announced that Chinese will, moreover, be taught from the next school year in the fifth year class and can be presented to the baccalaureate. The principal addressed the two recipients, saying, « By your action, you have brought the school closer to the Chinese community, you have instilled a dynamic that I hope, thanks to your present and future commitment, will continue in the weeks, months and years to come. » He punctuated his speech at the time of the awarding of honours by « You are now members of the French School. Welcome to our family open to the world! « . The students present presented the awards and the ceremony was punctuated by a nice snack in a beautiful atmosphere.
